  • Making little changes in your life could have a large impact. Be a part-time vegetarian. Livestock production creates more greenhouse gases than the entire transportation sector — all the cars, trucks, planes, and trains in the world. If we’d eat just one less serving of beef every Monday, we could save the equivalent of driving 348 miles of emissions. The energy used to make a single ¼ lb. burger could charge your phone for six months. That same ¼ lb. burger also requires 425 gallons of water to be produced. There are also benefits that impact you directly. Reducing your meat intake can reduce chance heart disease, diabetes, stroke, and cancer. Take the first step by substituting one meal at a time.
